Kristal and her family are from Austin, while Steven and his family are from Pearland. We both graduated in 2010 from Texas A&M University; Kristal with a bachelors of science in biomedical science and Steven with a bachelors of science in computer science. Surprisingly, we did not meet during our undergraduate careers. Kristal is currently working as a graduate research assistant while earning a PhD in Toxicology at Texas A&M with an expected graduation of 2015. Steven is working at Capsher Technology in College Station as a software developer.
We first met at the Capsher Christmas party at Messina Hof in 2011 and hit it off immediately. Jennifer and JD Farst introduced us. We found out that we have so much in common and talked the whole night. We talked about how we both love to travel; Steven had been to Japan and Central Europe and Kristal had been to Italy. We talked about our love of cooking (and baking) and wine. After that, we went on a few dates, including spending New Year's Eve together at a local wine bar in downtown Bryan. For Valentine's Day, we went to The Melting Pot in Houston and were certainly falling for each other. In April, we went to Las Vegas for the 21st birthday of Steven's sister, Kimberlee. And in May, we went to Japan for Ieyasu and Yoshimi Tokumoto's wedding. In one week, we went to five cities (Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, and Kumamoto), traveling by train and had a wonderful time.
Steven asked Kristal to marry him on August 1st of 2012 at the exact place where they met; Mesina Hof. After a little deliberation, we decided to get married where we live and work and where we have spent the last 5-6 years of our lives; College Station, TX. We will be getting married at St. Mary's Catholic Church where Kristal was confirmed and had her first holy communion by the same priest who administered these rites. We will be engaging in marriage preparation prior to the wedding day and would like to thank those helping us through these learning experiences. We are so excited and feel so blessed to be able to share this momentous occasion with all of you and could not be happier to enter into this new chapter of our lives!
